Meet Dr. Carleara Weiss

Dr. Carleara Weiss is a Sleep Scientist
focused on
Sleep, Aging, and Brain Health.
Dr. Weiss has over 15 years of experience as an
Adult-Geriatric Nurse Specialist, with a Master's in Science of Healthcare and a Ph.D. in Nursing, focused on Behavioral Sleep Medicine and Circadian Rhythms.
Dr. Weiss moved to the US in 2013 to pursue a doctoral degree and a postdoctoral fellowship in Behavioral Sleep Medicine, Circadian Rhythms, Pharmacology, Toxicology, and Geriatrics.
Previously, she was an Assistant Professor and Clinician in hospitals, nursing homes, and hospices in Brazil.
Originally from Brazil, Dr. Weiss earned a Bachelor's in Nursing Science and a Bachelor's in Education, completed her medical-surgical & geriatric training, and master's degree at the Federal Fluminense University in Rio de Janeiro.
Currently, she is an Assistant Professor at the University at Buffalo, a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and a Board Chair at the Sleep Research Society.
